I've been dealing with them for a year now during nursing school. I highly suggest asking if your program uses them before starting school, if your school does... RUN to another school. Don't walk, RUN. Their customer service tells you they will call you back, this never happens. You spend hours on phone calls and on hold. Terrible website and customer service. When THEIR system fails, it takes weeks to fix.

One of the worst. Their Complio platform is confusing and clunky website. But what's worse is that their system says you meet requirements but also that the requirement is incomplete. They have one of the cheap chat services that's useless. And emails to support bounce back. In other words they exist to make money, not help you. If this puts your life on hold, it's not important because they've already been paid. They're a low rent outfit in business because low-rent companies hire them. YOU get what THEY pay for. Tells you a lot about BOTH Companies... Good luck with that.

1-Star Review: American DataBank / Complio - An Absolute Nightmare of Confusion

1-Star Review: American DataBank / Complio - An Absolute Nightmare of Confusion and Delay STAY AWAY. This company is a catastrophic bottleneck for anyone needing to complete a background check or compliance package, particularly for students using their Complio platform. The entire process is an exercise in frustration and bureaucratic incompetence that has cost me an unacceptable amount of time, money, and stress. ### The Process is Unnecessarily Confusing and Punishing The Complio platform is designed to be intentionally difficult to navigate. The documentation requirements are presented in the most ambiguous way possible, leading to repeated, costly rejections. I uploaded documents that were perfectly valid and previously accepted by other institutions, only to have them denied for obscure, hyper-technical reasons that are impossible to predict. You feel like you're playing a game with impossible-to-follow rules, with your academic or professional start date hanging in the balance. The rejection explanations are vague, leaving you to guess what minor detail they found wrong this time. ### Customer Service: A Black Hole of Wasted Time If you have a question or a rejected document, prepare to waste an entire day. The customer service hold times are nothing short of ridiculous--frequently 30-45 minutes or more. It is clear this company is severely understaffed and unprepared for the volume of customers it handles. When you finally reach a representative, they are often unable to provide clear, actionable help, often just repeating the same confusing requirements that caused the problem in the first place. My issue required multiple calls, and each one felt like I was starting from scratch, repeating my details to someone who could only offer minimal assistance. ### Bottom Line American DataBank and Complio serve as a massive hurdle, not a helpful service. They are difficult, their process is confusing, and their customer service is a total joke due to the unconscionable hold times. If your school or employer forces you to use this service, brace yourself for a frustrating and lengthy ordeal. I would give them zero stars if possible.

Absolutely awful. I have emailed, and called about questions. One time I called I was on hold for 30 MINUTES only for them to finally answer me, with the teller on the other line to barely speak English, and then HANG UP ON ME. The second time I called, they gave me an email address to email that was OUT OF USE. I am sick and tired of this company, and I need it for school so thanks American data bank.

Dealing with Complio has been a headache from start to finish. The customer service is unhelpful and has the charm of a brick wall. The website itself? About as user-friendly as assembling furniture with no instructions. Speaking of instructions, the ones they do provide are vague and leave way too much room for "guess what we actually want from you." A perfect example: I submitted a perfectly valid PPD report. The placement and read were clearly documented on the same report, signed by the provider, just like every clinic and facility does. Yet they still reject it without offering any logical explanation or guidance beyond I need two documents. Instead of helping, they bounce the document back with unclear comments, so now I'm doing laps trying to figure out what imaginary formatting rule they've decided to enforce today. If their job is to verify documents, they should at least understand what they're looking at. Overall, it's inefficient, frustrating, and feels like they're more interested in gatekeeping than supporting students and professionals who are already juggling a demanding workload. I will be petitioning my school to no longer use this service.

I am enrolling into Chamberlain University in the nurse practitioner program that starts in September. As a student we are required to get a background check along with fingerprints that have to be approved by the FBI. Submitting a request to get the background check was super easy with this company. Unfortunately, finding a place near me to get registered to get the fingerprints was a bit harder to figure out. I reached out to American Databank and spoke to an amazing customer service representative named Jai. He talked me thru the process and helped to decrease my anxiety surrounding trying to get my fingerprints and background check report. He was very friendly and extremely helpful. I really appreciate the time that he took to calm my nerves by explaining the process in an easier manner than my online self research that was a bit difficult and confusing to follow. After talking to him, I have been able to find a local business and make an appointment to get everything completed. Thank You Jai for your help, I really appreciate it. The only complaint that I would have for this company is that this process is not as user friendly for a person that is not very tech savvy as it could be. Thank You, Micki Johnson, RN BSN Future Nurse Practitioner

This is the most poorly designed software I have ever had the displeasure of being forced to use. They charge students a fee to maintain compliance then force them to do 100% of the work. Why am I paying you to do your job? They reject paperwork for trivial reasons, there is no help available. They take ages to email back and will have you on hold forever. They require manual input of 3 to 5 documents for every single vaccine every time. What should be a quick file scan is turned into hours of work for absolutely no reason. If they don't like a file you have, welp too bad. You're out of luck. No school, no work. They turned compliance into the most bureaucratic process possible and it is astonishing to me that they get any business at all.

Unethical. Fraudulent. They will allow you to remain on hold for 15 minutes and then will automatically roll the call to voicemail. They do not answer emails. I was locked out of an account after my background check was completed and I have no way to access it and American Databank is AWOL. This business is gatekeeper and it's own accrediting authority as it founded the Professional Background Screening Association. If you need help with American Databank, I would contact the Colorado Attorney General https://coag.gove/file-complaint/ . Everything about this business being the creator of it's own accrediting body and being entrusted with handling such sensitive information, is a red flag.

Honestly this site has a poor user interface. I am using it for school and was dealing with documents being rejected that were actually valid. Thankfully, Ezekiel, the customer service member that I worked with, was very responsive and helpful to me!
