About

Garver Asset Protection and Investigations, LLC was founded by Nick Garver, an experienced public safety professional and an incumbent Ohio police chief. Garver Asset Protection is one of the most professional and progressive security and private investigation companies in Ohio and is continually expanding. Since our formation, our client base has grown greatly and we are rapidly becoming a recognized market leader in professional security services. At Garver, we seek to be proficient in catering for a select number of clients and not the masses, as is the case with many of our competitors. It has always been a priority at Garver to meet the needs of our clients speedily and effectively. Since our formation, our aim has been to build and maintain long-term relationships with our clients providing them with a first-class service at all times. As a result of the high standards which we demand of all our departments, it has been no surprise that our client base has grown steadily since our formation. We have the structure, supervisory staff, and officers to ensure that our clients receive a most reliable and professional service at all times. Please check out the many services we offer, and let us know how we may serve you.

Established in 2012. Garver Asset Protection LLC is owned an operated by Nick Garver, a career law enforcement officer with seven years as a Police Captain or Chief of Police, and ten years as a Fire Lieutenant or Fire Captain. The company was started as a second job and has grown to the point of a full service security company offering armed and unarmed security officers, fire safety and security consultations, private investigations, and fire watches for buildings that have a fire alarm or fire suppression system that is out of order. Nick hires mainly certified law enforcement officers which come with nearly 600 more hours of training than the average security guard from most companies. In fact, in Ohio, there are very minimal standards for security officers. Some companies hire armed officers with only 20 hrs of gun safety training and send them out to work. While career security officers are employed at Garver Protection, they have extensive training, some are certified as EMT's and firefighters.

This is not only the most unprofessional private security firm I've ever encount

This is not only the most unprofessional private security firm I've ever encountered, but they are definitely an additional danger to the peace and safety of those they are contractually bound to protect. Earlier this year I was the *victim* of several heartbreaking incidents of domestic violence. Time and time again Garver personnel made me feel as though I were somehow in the wrong though I was uncontrovertibly the victim in every act, never the aggressor, revictimizing me anew each time I would need their assistance. (They must have taken a page out of the CPD's handbook as far as that goes.) The situation deteriorated to the point that security guards said they would not even respond if called again about such an incident. (Not that they usually came in a terribly timely manner anyway, or that they bothered to come at all each time there was a life-threatening emergency.) Yet when this same person assailant allegedly assaulted one of a security guard also, strangely Garver did not even bother to press criminal charges; guards just said they would "light him up" when they saw him on the property again, apparently violence and vigilantism are the preferred problem resolution method of this rogue band of "protectors," rather than seeking resolution of the problem within the constraints of our judicial system. Garver Asset Protection employees soon after used derogatory language involving sexual orientation, echoing over their loud radios across the parking lot of a gas station they had no business loitering around instead of their post, and somehow found it appropriate to make "a joke" about religion then repeat it when it was not well received. They didn't even bother to notify the actual police when they witnessed a hit and run while I was reporting being robbed at gunpoint in my under-lit parking lot. To top it off, guards just maliciously had my vehicle towed after harassing me for a few days about it. I had the misfortune of getting a couple tires flattened when I ran over collision debris that had not yet been blocked off or removed. My vehicle had only been sitting in my parking lot a few days while another car in the very same parking lot has been sitting on all flat tires for nearly -- if not more than -- a full year. This egregious conduct by people in such a position of trust and authority is a clear violation of my civil rights and encroachment on my basic dignity as a human being. I would not recommend this company to anyone, for anything. It's troubling to think that these people are allowed to carry guns.
