Unlike most "big box" security companies, Houston Protection & Investigation is well versed in every aspect of security. We take on jobs from corporate and private property security to personal/executive protection and surveillance. We are licensed as a non-transport Emergency Medical Service and we even have a division whose soul purpose is to chaperone our younger clientele in situations such as Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, sweet sixteens, proms, etc. We have staff that have been working with kids for decades and we have staff that have served our country in combat zones all over the world. We take pride in our jobs and our service to each and everyone of our clients. With HPIS, you really have found your one stop shop for any and all security and investigation needs.
Established in 2014. The company actually started out as Accord Protective Services and Elite Scheduling Service back in 2005. Over the years these names became synonymous with Owner/Operator Mike Houston. Everywhere we went, people saw the patch and our clean cut, professional look and knew exactly who we were. They would come up to us and ask "Are you Houston's guys?", so in March 2014, Houston Protection & Investigation Service was born. We are a well established company with employees well versed in many fields of security and investigation.

This company racially profiled me just because I was black! I was attending a Jewish Funeral for the very close relative of my close friend. I was there to show support for one of my very good friends, who happens to be Jewish, during one of the hardest times in his life. I parked and as I was attempting to be there to support my dear friend, I was singled out and stopped on the way in, and interrogated by their guard for an extended period of time! Now matter how much I explained myself, named names, explained who I was and my relation to the people there, he would not believe me! I answered all his questions and then some and I really tried to be cooperative. Still the guard continued to interrogate me for some time and would not let me go. He was of considerable size and to be honest I was quite worried I would be tackled or hurt unless I complied. The threat of violence was definitely felt by me otherwise I would have just walked inside past him. Meanwhile many other people walked right by without any problem. When I asked why he was singling me out, the guard admitted point blank it was because I was black, and everyone else there was white! It finally took other mutual friends of ours attending the funeral to come out and shout at the guard to let me go. Many people came up to me later and were horrified at the way I was singled and treated just because I am black! I'm not the person to allege racism, I grew up in a biracial family, and like to give the benefit of the doubt, but this was outrageous clear racism! A very sad and tragic situation was made far worse due to the unprofessionalism and racial profiling of the staff Houston P&I. I used to be a security guard for over 3 years, and this is not the way to handle security. If they would have asked anyone, they could have vouched for me, I knew almost everyone there. I had even volunteered at the Funeral home to collect their Shamos in the past for a charity. After the funeral I called and ask to speak to management and was given the run around and that "no management was available". As I tried to explain the situation to the call taker I was interrupted and honestly felt ignored. Only later on did the person who answered the phone admit they were the owner and they claimed they would get back to me with some kind of resolution. I waited more than a week before posting this review to see if anyone from the company would respond with a change in policy, or some kind of explanation on how this would be prevented in the future. Honestly all I wanted was an honest admission that a mistake was made and a statement on how they would make sure they didn't mistreat anyone else. After explaining the entire situation and the horrible way I was treated, there was zero follow up! This company is horrible! Racist! Please boycott. Thanks. They have no idea what they are doing and shouldn't be in business.
