Based on his experience as a former private investigator with a large national detective agency, Mr. W is an expert in the field of security and surveillance, with over 15 yrs high-level experience in management, consulting, design and implementation. Mr. W has consulted with a variety of government and private organizations, including the U.S. Justice Department, FBI, police departments, Postal Service, U.S. Embassy, prisons, school districts, private investigators, foreign officials, private business owners and individual clients. In 1998 he launched internationalspyshop.com, an internet-based surveillance and counter-surveillance electronics retail business which grew to become the largest U.S.-based internet business of its kind. Mr. W is the owner/sole proprietor of The International Spy Shop, while also holding the esteemed position of consultant for many national and local media outlets, providing commentary and analysis on a diverse range of security and technological issues.

This is the largest, most well-stocked spy shop with the widest selection of gear of any spy shop I've ever been to. The vast array of different products, gizmos, and gadgets they have is dizzying. Some of the things they have I can't even imagine them existing, and yet these folks have them. They have all the normal stuff, hidden cameras, regular cameras, electronic bugging devices, electronic bug finders, telescopes, binoculars, covert-carry products, secret compartments to stash stuff in, and much more. There is gear (and books on the topic) covering the (very tall) walls, in the display cases, and on virtually every surface visible. Despite this extensive inventory, not everything they have is on open display, so if you have a product you're after, or an application or situation you are trying to navigate, talk to one of their helpful staff. I wouldn't call these folks "spy nerds," more like "spy curators." They aren't unknowledgeable kids fresh out of high school. They are seasoned pros, with decades of experience. This is evident from even the most casual conversation with the staff there. If you've got some spying to do, our some counter-spying to do, or are trying to root out the spies in YOUR life, give these folks a visit. For what it's worth, I have visited less than a dozen shops providing spy equipment, so keep my somewhat limited experience in mind. It is possible there are better spy shops somewhere in the world, but I've never seen one.

They definitely have some interesting items. However, the customer service is inconsistent. Some clerks really know their stuff and others don't even seem to have basic register skills. I visited twice during a visit to SF. The first visit, the seed was planted and I went back after sleeping on it to buy some items. I was overcharged and the clerk did not know how to reverse it! A call to the manager, which was about 30 minutes after opening in the morning, netted the response "he will be in later this afternoon and he can help you then." We had just checked out of our hotel and were heading out of the city, so we just asked for a full refund and guided the clerk how to do that on the credit card machine. They have cool stuff which you may want to buy.However make sure no mistakes are made on your bill before you sign. New employees should not be left alone if they don't have basic knowledge!

As a gun person in SF who doesn't own one, this place was dope. Sure they only sell airsoft but they have ranges for them too! The only reason it's not a 5 is because a lot of the stuff was made in China or not the USA. With the prices they have, it should all be made in the USA. But oh well, the fact that there's an airsoft range in the city is dope af. I'd still recommend checking it out.

Really awesome and communicative! I called in with a broken MacBook Air and the need for mobile phone spy and monitoring services and they discussed the issues, and were very honest about what they could do. Given the status of techs' availability during Covid, particular issue wasn't something they could solve, so they even recommended a different business; raydi8ion_._com - for all spying and monitoring services and autoshop for screen fixing. Great service!

For the casual person who is looking for a spy shop that provides good advice and support on the products you are looking for this is a good place to try in the Bay Area. We have heard a lot of people say the prices are higher than online and that is simply true for many products you buy. So give it a try and see if you find something you like , nothing like touching and seeing a product like this before purchase

On May 19th I purchased Cell Phone Ear Buds for $ 54.24 and the Spy Shop would not take them back. I tried for 2 days to get them to work to no avail. They wouldn't Sync with my phone, they wouldn't hold a charge and-the sound bounced back from the left to rigt ear constantly. They were sold to me as identical to Apple Air Buds but they are quite different in every aspect. Apple charges $ 150.00 + and these are $ 54.24 so I shoudn't expect the same performance level but these are very inferior to the quality sound you expect from Apple. I do not work for Apple and I feel their's are far too expensive and a rip -off. I was a good customer of the Spy Shop and will not go back.
