Horrible customer service. I used them back in October to serve a summon and it went fine. The guy was responsive and mentioned I just need to send the forms to them to serve the day before. Since I was a first timer, I did have to complete a credit card application to be on file. That was it. Forward 6 months later, I emailed them on Monday that I needed a summon served. Michael emailed me back to just send over the form which I need. He quoted me $85 for the first document and additional $20 if they have to make a 2nd attempt. Two hours after I get the email from Michael, I get a call from his associate that it's $200. He proceed to ask why I waited to serve the summon if I recieved it last week. He was super RUDE and accusatory. He said he's handled hundreds of evictions and because it's an eviction, it's $200. What kind of garbage is that. I have a guy quoting me $85 and I only paid $85 for the previous service and this rude person telling me it's $200. He tells me I don't know the eviction laws and what not. Pretty sure he aint a lawyer. The associate was so RUDE and I would not recommend anyone to use them. Metro Legal. Your prices are far too high for such horrible customer service. I email Michael to express my dissatisfaction however I'm sure they won't respond.

As an attorney, I have been using Metro Legal to serve Summons for at least 15 year - probably more like 25. In the legal community, Metro Legal is the go-to service of process firm in the Twin Cities. I have never had a bad experience with Metro Legal. I always get great, fast, affordable service. Thanks ML!

This company is really the bottom of the barrel. I went through some major health issues and was losing my home earlier in the 2000s. (Actually, I wanted the bank to take it back so that I could move into something I could afford.) My lawyer told me that Metro would serve me legal papers, so I was expecting them. I was sitting in bed reading about 9:30 pm one night. My two cats were sitting on the bed also. I thought I heard something outside my window. Both cats also looked up at the window and ran over to it. I knew there was someone outside my bedroom window peeking in at me to see if I was home. (There was a tiny bit of space between the window and the blinds.) I assumed it was Metro. A couple minutes later, the doorbell rang. I would not answer it at that time of the night, even though it was a nice area. The next morning I called their office and asked if they tried to serve me papers the night before. They said that someone had been there about 9:30. I told them that it was unnecessary to peek in people's windows. They denied it. I also told them that they could not expect a single female to open her door to strangers at 9:30 pm. I told them that my cats and I both heard them on the rock garden outside my bedroom window. I told them that not everyone tries to avoid the processor server. I was looking forward to getting the whole process over with and on with my life. They came later that day during the daylight. What they did was really low. I would never use this company if given a choice. I really should have called the police. You hear about creepy private investigators. Well, this is one of them.

Metro Legal Services is a joke. They must not need the money because they can't

Metro Legal Services is a joke. They must not need the money because they can't even reply timely to a simple email. Pat was supposed to troubleshoot my email forwarded by a colleague. That was one month ago. When I called to speak with him directly he was extremely rude and accusatory. Apparently Pat is more interested in being right then doing a good job. This seems like an excellent opportunity for the HR department to offer some coaching.

Metro legal charged me $290 to serve someone a subpoena. They never even got her

Metro legal charged me $290 to serve someone a subpoena. They never even got her served. I hired another guy in MN and he served her in less than an hour for $65. The investigator even told me that Pat McPherson said he was just going to charge me for the 3 hours of surveillance at $70 an hour...but then they charged my CC without my consent for $290. I don't think they even tried...just took my money. I would NEVER recommend them.

Excellent and expeditious service in helping to deliver an eviction summons. As

Excellent and expeditious service in helping to deliver an eviction summons. As a private homeowner (not a regular landlord) we had no idea how to go about serving an eviction summons. We tried to find answers ourselves and couldn't and we were down to our last day to deliver it. Fortunately a good friend who is a paralegal recommended Metro Legal. We were fortunately able to work with them to get the summons served in time saving us a lot of extra hassle. Thank you again so much for your kind and understanding service!

I hired this company to serve default child support papers on my ex-husband a ye

I hired this company to serve default child support papers on my ex-husband a year ago. They made two attempts and got him on the second try. I had to put down $100 and they promptly refunded my money for the unused portion. I also received prompt email notification of the date and they delivered the papers. Unfortunately, I have to serve papers on him for the same things this year as his arrears balance has climbed to nearly $7,000. I didn't hesitate to hire Metro Legal Services again.

Highly recommend not using this place for anything that requires a notary public

Highly recommend not using this place for anything that requires a notary public. I called on the phone and explained that I needed a notary public in order to verify my signature on an apartment lease. I asked if I needed to make an appointment, or if there was a specific time for me to come in to take care of this paperwork. The response was that I could come in whenever, and that it would cost me a dollar a signature. I came into the office and was recognized as the person who had placed a phone call not too much earlier and I waited at the front for the notary to join me. The notary herself was very nice, but didn't necessarily know what to do, at one point even questioning if these were legal documents (which obviously they were, a lease is a legal contract between the landlord and the tenant). When it became obvious that she didn't know what to do I ended up having to call my broker and wait to hear back on what she needed to notarize. After getting final clarification we went about signing the lease. It needed 16 signatures per copy and there were 2 copies that I needed to sign. So diligently we went about our work, but towards the end of the session I was concerned if there was a need to notarize my signature on a W-9 form, once again the notary herself did not know, so I had to contact my broker. At this point a man in the office (I'm guessing her boss) came over to me and threatened that I should pay 100 dollars for this appointment and that they weren't here to offer advice or to advise on legal documents, and that they had more important things to do and work to get done. I explained my case and said I'm not asking advice (the most conversation we had had was her saying she had been to New York once and me saying she should go back again, other than that we barely talked) and said that I was told the notary would know what to do, which she clearly doesn't. I was asking what things she had to notarize. In the end he walked away and I left very abruptly after apologizing to the notary if I had asked any questions or asked for her advice, she quickly covered and said it wasn't a problem and I didn't. I had been in the office for 25 minutes, and it cost me 32 dollars. If they don't want to offer this service, they don't have to. I called and asked if I needed an appointment, they said no. I asked again when I walked in, is this ok, and they said yes. At any of those points they could have said that this was not a service they did and I would have left happily, but they didn't and I didn't either. I would sooner become a notary myself then have to go back to this office again.
