Hired to investigate man who ran me over with a car. Chris Castorena was very eager to investigate for a deposit of $1,500. I was under the impression we'd meet at a halfway point, but he instead said he'd meet me at my home. Chris stated he'd contact my attorney, the police the case was filed with, and update me within 1 - 2 weeks on any leads. I didn't receive anything. He briefly spoke with my attorney, but never contacted the local police. He briefly said he had the flu, yet posted a video on his socials of him in the desert recording some guy climbing out of a bush? (Doesn't seem like he actually had the flu...) Police stated he never reached out and there were no updates on the investigation for over 6 weeks. Not even a single response to a text besides him saying he had the "flu" weeks prior. I was unaware there were previous articles and concerns about his business. I'm disappointed my time and money was stolen, especially in a profession where people are at their most vulnerable, of course. A man almost murdered me, and yet no men, even the ones I'm paying, seem to actually give a sh*t. Not surprised though. He relies strictly on referrals via his Facebook profile so I had no idea what the name of his LLC was until I already hired him. The website consists of copy/paste jargon and stock photos of his "team." Be a better human, if that's even possible. Update: I am now awaiting a refund on my deposit since nothing was upheld during the initial agreement of services. I suddenly received an incoming call from Chris and told him further communication would be done through text only. Chris states that he has still not even ran a background check on the individual that hit me with their car. The local police were not contacted I already confirmed, and even if they were I'd imagine a background check would've already been done by now. Suddenly he is sick again, despite already saying that weeks ago while posting himself in the desert somewhere outside. He says I will "like the results," but to be frank I don't want to "like" ANY results in regards to someone stalking and attempting to murder me. The whole reason I hired an investigator in the first place was to be able to confirm I'm being stalked and harassed so I can proceed with a restraining order and further legal actions. I do not care about the "settlement," I just want to feel safe knowing the people harassing me are held accountable. Total bait-and-switch scam.
