Established in 1976. Started by Frank Kaul in 1976, initially providing Process Service & Legal Photocopy to the San Mateo area, Frank was joined in 1980 by his brother Don, and together they grew Swift to encompass the Bay Area. It wasn't long until Swift extended its' reach to cover all of California. In 2009, Frank's son, Justin, joined the Swift team, and is leading the charge to ensure the same level of customer service legal professionals have come to expect, while also searching for & implementing new technologies and partnerships to streamline the Swift experience & maximise results for clients. In the time since, Swift has consolidated a team of experts that spans business development, marketing & education, to support & grow internal operations, and also provide industry-leading integrations, education & advice to better support their customers. Now, Swift Legal is one of the longest running California-based attorney service companies, reaching further & with more services than most others.

I have been a lawyer in San Francisco for just over 30 years. I have been working with Swift Legal in Redwood City for a few years now. They just did a terrific job for me on a rush assignment dealing with a particularly difficult Sheriff's Office. They moved heaven and earth to get something done in one day. This is the second time they basically dropped everything and got something done for me that was pretty difficult. They have also finessed a few things in the San Mateo Sheriff's Office. (Frank knows the local Sheriffs and is careful to follow the procedures in each office -- this one needs a declaration re electronic writ even after the change in the SER forms etc...) If you have work in Nor Cal, I can't recommend them highly enough. (I should also mention that they just opened an office right across from CT Corporation in Glendale)

Highly incapable of providing the service they advertise. I submitted a subpoena for rush/24-hour process service, yet after more than a week and a half--and multiple follow-ups--they never even attempted to serve it. Each time I called, I spoke with different employees who all told me it was "in process" and that I would receive an update. The only time I ever got updates was when I chased them down myself. On one occasion I was even told it would be served that evening, which never happened. Later I was told their server doesn't go to that city very often. If that's the case, then why offer and charge for rush 24-hour service?? When the case manager finally called me, he claimed the request had 'slipped through the cracks.' This was the same person who had previously told me it was actively being worked on and that he would follow up with the server. It's hard to understand how something can slip through the cracks when multiple staff members repeatedly assured me it was being handled. By the time they offered more apologies and promises to fix it, the subpoena deadline had already passed and it was no longer usable. This was after I had already taken the time to go to the courthouse and wait to have the subpoena certified in the first place. Completely unreliable service and a huge waste of time and energy. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Swift Legal and Anna were amazing. I needed assistance with having court documents served and filed on behalf of my son who is active duty military and is currently stationed in Montana. Ana was courteous and professional. She walked me through the process and got the documents served and filed for us. Amazing service, I'd recommended them to anyone needed assistance in Northern California.

I've worked with them for a year and half from out of state on a legal matter in CA. They've done a great job all this time with communicating and getting things done in a timely manner. Though they've all been great, the absolute superstar is Frank! He made sense out of and led me successfully through a quagmire of legal forms. He was patient and helpful and completed everything I needed done in short order. And was cheerful, supportive and sympathetic to how hard these processes can be. When I was having trouble filing a document in Alameda County which the clerk could not provide a category for (i.e. a complaint in intervention), Swift Legal helped me to run it up the flag pole to the court supervisor and eventually I was able to get it filed. They did not charge me extra for this. Great service.

These guys are professional, flexible, and friendly and are really good at working details with their clients to make sure they get the job done. I've had to use their services a few times and they've never disappointed and the prices are reasonable. And the fact that they're located near the RWC courthouse is a plus. Definitely gives these guys a try if it's your first time using a process server. They will treat you well. I hope I never have to have someone served again, but whenever I need to, I will always use Swift Legal.

As a small law firm, I have been using Swift Legal for electronic filing, service, and courier services for years. This positive review is long overdue. Their customer service is fantastic. Dan is especially helpful with a filing deadline that would have had important consequences for a client. He was helpful, resourceful, and immediately understood the problem. I really value their services when you need to work closely with someone to accomplish your task. I love using Swift Legal and would choose them over any competitor.
